Small Stages Ask me Anything: An Open Dialogue with Dom

WEDNESDAY AUGUST 31 , 4-5pm For Parents & Teens 13-17. This is a free event!

Society's construction of gender, how it is defined, and how it is expressed has impacted us all in ways we may not easily recognize. This, in turn, has created barriers for transgender and GNC (gender nonconforming) people to be affirmed in their gender identities. Learn more about gender identity, gender expression, and how to deconstruct social constructions of gender so you can be an effective ally and contribute to creating a sensitive, affirming, and welcoming space for trans and GNC folks.

Ask Dom questions about their lived experiences around gender identity and how drag is an expression of that experience. Teens are invited to talk about their own experiences and ask questions around the subject. This is an open dialogue workshop where questions can be asked to bring more understanding of the LGBTQ+ community.

Attendees will also be welcome to ask questions about the upcoming youth drag show. If there is an interest, teens can create their own characters and participate in the upcoming youth drag show on Sept 10 3-4pm.
